Try before you pay, cancel any time, and ask if something is wrong. Here is how the free tier, cancellations, and refunds work.

You do not need to pay to try General Text. A browser demo runs with no account at all, the desktop app is free, and a workspace with no subscription is free within published limits (one person, three apps, and 1 GB at the time of writing), synced and encrypted like any other. A subscription is what raises those limits and lets you add the people you collaborate with. If you cancel, your workspaces stay on your devices, fully editable and exportable.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep full access through the end of the period you have already paid for. After that the workspace is read-only for thirty days, then offline on your devices until it is subscribed again. Nothing is deleted; every device keeps its copy.
If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it. Outside that window, we consider reasonable refund requests on a case-by-case basis, including for accidental or duplicate charges.
Our payments and refunds are processed by our Merchant of Record, Stripe. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method; the time to appear depends on your provider. For billing enquiries you can contact us or Stripe directly.
Email hello@generaltext.org with your account email and, if you have it, the Stripe order or receipt number. We aim to respond within a few business days.
